Whether or not you host others at your home for the holidays, having a well-organized kitchen is your secret weapon for less stress today and throughout the holiday season.

By taking the time to declutter, get prepared, and keep it simple, you’ll be ready to focus on what really matters: sharing love and laughter with your family and friends. ♥️

Here's how to get started:

1. Declutter and Deep Clean 🧽

Getting your kitchen in order now will save you time and energy in the long run!

  • Purge the pantry: Take everything out, toss out expired items and put the rest back neatly. Consider donating things you don’t need to a local food pantry.

✨ Bonus points! Do the same with your fridge and freezer to make space for food prep and leftovers.

  • Deep clean: Wipe down shelves and countertops before putting everything back in. So fresh and so clean!

2. Take Stock of Essentials 🛒

The last thing you need during a busy cooking session is to realize you’re out of an essential ingredient while your hands are covered in batter!

  • Check supplies: Take inventory of staple items such as flour, spices, oils, and anything that you use often.

  • Plan ahead: Note any missing items and add them to your shopping list. Consider stocking up on non-perishables to avoid last-minute grocery runs, but be mindful not to overstock your pantry. Do you REALLY need 8 cans of cranberry sauce?

3. Organize Your Cooking Tools 👩🏼‍🍳

Nothing slows down cooking like hunting for a misplaced whisk or measuring cup.

  • Reassess your tools: Donate or store kitchen gadgets you rarely use to free up space. I prefer gadgets that have multiple uses!

  • Have a home for everything: Use dividers for utensils kept in drawers, or treat yourself to a nice container if you prefer to keep some of them easily accessible on the countertop.
